Globitel, a leading provider of Roaming, VAS and Customer Care solutions, announced today that Zain Jordan launched its Bill Shock Prevention Solution, which will enable Zain subscribers to control data roaming expenses.

With the rapid growth of Smartphone’s, mobile subscribers are increasingly using their handsets to surf the Web, download content and applications, check emails, etc. The proliferation of high speed data connections is rapidly driving up the usage of data over cellular networks. While the cost of mobile data, when consumed domestically, is controlled by means of data packages, the price of roaming is simply prohibitive. Unfortunately, users are seldom aware of the cost of downloading data while roaming. This lack of understanding causes a frightening experience widely known as “bill shock”, and this often jolts subscribers into drastically reducing their usage of data roaming, or even causes subscribers to churn to competitor networks.

“Bill Shock Prevention provides telecom operators with a valuable tool to eliminate the fear of bill shock for their subscribers when using data services abroad,” Said Mr. Fadi Qutaishat, VP- Sales and Marketing at Globitel."Protection against data roaming bill shock is a useful step towards building customers' confidence and loyalty with subscribers".

With Globitel’s bill shock prevention solution, Zain subscribers receive spending alerts while roaming, and have the option to set usage thresholds to fit their spending targets.
