Zebra Technologies Supports Dubai Health Authority’s Digital Transformation Program

Zebra Technologies Corporation, the market leader in rugged mobile computers, barcode scanners and barcode printers enhanced with software and services to enable real-time enterprise visibility, is working with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), providing new specialized healthcare technology solutions to enable the digital transformation of the emirate’s healthcare sector. As part of the DHA’s new Salama unified electronic medical record (EMR) system, the new collaboration with Zebra provides enhanced patient identification and mobile access to medical data - from patient admission to bedside to discharge.

Zebra manages the deployment of a broad range of healthcare solutions including Zebra MC40-HC healthcare purposed mobile computers, Zebra DS8178-HC scanner, Zebra QLn220-HC and HC100  printers as well as  Z-Band® UltraSoft wristbands. These products are specifically designed to meet the unique demands of the healthcare environment, in conjunction with DHA’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and clinical team requirements.

• Zebra’s healthcare solutions improve the quality of care through better patient identification, drug administration and sample identification at the bedside, EMR mobile access, and sample/drug identification at DHA pharmacies and medical laboratories.
  • The DHA launched the Salama system in April 2017 to provide patients and doctors with access to medical records (patient medical history, treatment and test results) through an electronic patient portal.
  • Zebra’s healthcare solutions have been deployed across all DHA’s four hospitals, specialty centers and 13 primary healthcare centers across the Emirate of Dubai.
