Google has celebrated, this week, the launch of its initiative "Ebda2" (Start With Google), which is a competition that aims at supporting start-ups and new ideas by providing a cash prize worth LE1.2 million (one million and two hundred thousand Egyptian pounds) for the winning project. This initiative is considered one of the best practices setting a role model for other companies to support more small and medium projects as well as distinctive ideas.

This initiative is taking place through cooperation between several partners, including ALZWAD, a leader in the field of mobile applications in Egypt. ALZWAD is headed by Ziad Ali, a pioneering expert in the field of technology, with more than 20 years of experience in business development and senior management in the information technology, telecommunications and transportation services sectors as well as a gold medalist business leader in Egypt.

Ziad will be lecturing at universities in ten governorates to clarify the objectives of the initiative and to answer all queries. He will also coach and mentor the execution of the selected projects and will provide technical assistance, expertise and advise to support these projects and keep them on the right track.

Ziad praised the initiative by saying, "the initiative “Ebda2” with Google is considered one of a kind in supporting small and medium projects as well as people with creative ideas, as it helps them achieve their dreams and advance in their fields. These projects will serve as the backbone of the Egyptian economy in upcoming period”.

He added that the existence of such an opportunity increases hope and optimism towards our new Egypt. Ziad pointed out that Google will give the opportunity for innovators in the field of information technology to present their creative ideas, by granting them financial support through the prizes offered to the winning projects. This will put these projects on the right track and create hope for more future projects that would assist the recovering of the Egyptian economy during the upcoming years.
