International flights of Algeria’s main carrier, Air Algeria are set to increase as of March, according to Tayeb Benouis, a senior executive at the aviation company. Domestic flights, however, will remain at the same level. Benouis explained the increase as being related to the overhauling of the current fleet and the introduction of new models including five giant transporters of the Airbus A330 and three Boeing 737s.
There is an issue over the privatization of the company as well and it is known that there is a foreign partner considering in investing in the company.
