A group of property owners in Dubai has formed an association to keep watch over maintenance charges. The apartment owners at Dubai Marina are forming this body following scares over increases in costs.
The owners of six towers at Dubai Marina will be electing representatives to the owners' association.
Samir Kanaan, a lawyer from Lebanon who is a volunteer representative helping to set up the association, said the group was being created to check that the cost of maintenance charges was related to the services provided by Emaar.
According to Gulf News, Kanaan, who rents out his property in Dubai Marina that he has owned for more than 18 months, said the tenants were working in conjunction with Emaar to form the association.
