Qatar Telecom (Q-Tel) has announced the launch of a development program to transform the organization into a leading telecom company in the region. This announcement to all of Q-Tel's employees came three months after the company announced a program to enhance its operational, organizational and financial performance.
The company is preparing now to take the first step in this change program that will culminate in a new organization structure in March 2003.
Q-Tel Chairman, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Saud Bin Mohammad Al-Thani, spoke both of Q-Tel's aspirations, and the expectations of the country as it looks to the future. The company will play a significant role in Qatar's social and economic development, and will be at the heart of the country's rapidly developing infrastructure. The Chairman affirmed his belief that with increased effort, Q-Tel could exceed the expectations of its shareholders, employees, and customers as the program unfolds.
As well as introducing an enhanced organization structure, Q-Tel is also focusing on developing its people. It is creating additional opportunities for existing staff, promising new recruits from Qatar, and also fo professionals from leading institutions around the world. Underlying this policy is a welcome commitment to maintaining its position as a leader in Qatarisation.
Central to this program also is Q-Tel's commitment to increasing its product and service range to meet current and forecast demand from customers, and to develop a loyal customer base. It is dedicated to offering distinctive customer service, the first step of which is opening a customer communication center in Doha's City Center. — (menareport.com)
