Qatar Telecom (Q-Tel) recorded a 22 percent net profit increase in the first nine months of 2003 from 729 million Qatari riyals ($200 million) in 2002 to QR 889 million.
Revenue from January to September increased by 14.9 percent, a QR 191 million increase to QR 1.47 million from QR 1.28 million over the corresponding period last year.
Q-Tel's GSM services experienced revenue growth, rising by 31.6 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2002.
The overall GSM subscriber base grew by 51.8 percent, to close to 358,000 subscribers from 235,900 subscribers in September 2002. Leased line also underwent growth in revenues, increasing by 108 percent compared to September 2002. — (menareport.com)
