Qatar Airways has increased the frequency of its flights to 12 of its top destinations. "The recent addition of two state of the art Airbus A330-200 aircraft has helped us to increase the frequencies as well as to begin operations to new destinations," said Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer, Akbar Al-Baker.

With the raising of the frequencies, Qatar Airways now operates 11 flights a week to London's Heathrow Airport from the earlier nine. To cater to the growing number of European tourists visiting the Maldives, the airline has raised the number of flights to Male to seven from three.

Flights to the Middle East and Arab country destinations have also been increased. Qatar Airways now operates seven flights a week to Saudi Arabia with the raising of the Jeddah frequency to five from the earlier three. The other Saudi destination is Riyadh to which the airline flies twice a week.

The other destinations to which the frequencies have been raised are Amman, Damascus, Khartoum, Bangkok, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, two of which are via Bangkok, Kathmandu, Karachi and Jakarta.

Qatar Airways will add two more destinations to its network on October 28 with the launching of services to Sharjah and Hyderabad. The airline, Qatar's national carrier, has recently launched services to Frankfurt, Casablanca, Milan and Sanaa.

Qatar Airways currently has a fleet of 17 aircraft including seven Airbus A 300-600 R, seven Airbus A 320,2 Airbus A 330-200 and one Airbus Corporate jetliner ACJ 319.
