A large number of expatriate students feel "squeezed up" and complain of loosing their "private space" in the GROWING number of ‘shared' apartments in Qatar.

This is a fallout of the skyrocketing house rents in the country, a student counselor of a leading expatriate school was quoted as saying by the Peninsula.

Due to the increasing rents and the scarcity of low-cost residential buildings, many middle-income expatriate families are now forced to share an apartment with another family, the report added.
