Qatar topped the salary rise table in the GCC with a 7.9 per cent climb between September 2004 and August 2005, said UAE-based Gulf Business. It said in a recent edition that Saudi Arabia and UAE trailed with 7.4 and 6.9 percentage points, respectively.
With constrained growth rates in the West, professionals there are more and more looking at the Middle East as an area of tremendous opportunity. Qatar, according to recruiters, is competing with the UAE as a destination of choice and is recording the fastest hike in salaries, the report added.
