A serious cement shortage has hit the Qatari market again, threatening mega projects in particular, said Nasser Al Meer, head of the contracting committee at the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI). When other mega construction projects announced by Qatari Diar and Barwa are launched, the demand is inclined to double, he added, according to the Peninsula.
Work at major construction sites are close to coming to a standstill and at risk are projects for the upcoming Asian Games, he noted.
