SanDisk® Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK), the inventor and world’s largest supplier of flash storage cards, today announced signing a distributorship agreement with Salam Studios and Stores covering Qatar.
Research reports state that mobile penetration in Qatar currently exceeds 100 percent and is forecasted to exceed 210 percent by 2014. Further, mobile handset sales in Qatar are expected to total AED 297 million (QR295 million) by 2014.
Lebanon is also on an impressive growth path with its mobile subscriber base recorded to have touched the 40,000 mark in 2009 and just Blackberry users would reach the 30,000 mark by the end of 2011.
“Qatar and Lebanon are growth markets for us and our partners have helped us achieve our targets. We are very excited to sign on Salam Studios as our official distributor in Qatar and at the same time, applaud the efforts of Digital Technologies, our partner in Lebanon,” said Tareq Husseini, SanDisk’s Middle East and Africa Sales Director.
Both distributors work closely with SanDisk to promote, support, market and distribute the products. SanDisk products are available in Qatar and Lebanon through a wide range of retail outlets. This agreement is pursuant to SanDisk plans for more aggressive expansion of its new products as well as other flash memory cards.
