renna launches mobile services in Oman

After months of anticipation, renna has entered the market as Oman’s newest Mobile Reseller, leading the path for the Sultanate’s burgeoning telecommunications arena and setting new industry benchmarks.

renna’s packages are designed to cater to the untapped and underserved segments in the market tailored to suite their personal needs by empowering them with the means to control their expenses in an original, easier, and efficient manner, all of which is evident in the renna price plans and features which include transparent and light tariffs in addition to attractive credit control services.  


“Naturally, price plays an important role but it is also about serving these segments with offers they can afford with best possible performance,” explained Niklas Nielsen, renna Chief Executive Officer. “We took all elements in a mobile offer and carefully assessed areas for improvement to suit the needs of our target segments.”


During the planning stages, renna conducted several in-depth studies to assess how customers would benefit the most from mobile telephony by gauging feedback on pricing, packaging, services and distribution channels and it is through these results that the Company developed its segmented approach and designed specially tailored packages and services. The renna packages comprise two innovative price plans with no monthly or hidden fees:
• renna 6-6 is a classic peak/off-peak price plan that provides customers with an extra low tariff of 38bz from 6pm which is very popular among those who make most calls during the evenings
• renna 24/7 is a “flat rate” price plan that offers the same low price day and night, and is designed to suit customers who make most calls during the day

The Company has also focused on those who make frequent international calls by offering the choice of calling three international telephone numbers of choice at an exceptionally low rate as part of the price plans.

With the ‘Credit in Advance’ service, renna customers are ensured never to be in the situation where they need to make an important phone call but cannot because they have run out of credit. A renna customer, who runs out of credit, can receive a small amount of credit in advance from renna in order to make important calls and simply pay the balance the next time they recharge. 


Starting today, renna SIM cards, with an entirely new number series, are available at over 250 outlets across the Sultanate including dealers managed by some of the best and most experienced distributors and retail brands in Oman. The SIM cards can be bought at the low price of only 2 RO with 2 RO credit included. In addition, customers get 20 free SMS. Recharge cards can be bought at thousands of points of sales. renna has also opened two of its own fully branded shops located at its Head Quarters in Al Athaiba and in the Dhofar Building in Ruwi High Street.
