Some 80 new hotels and over 21,000 hotel rooms will be available in the Arabian Peninsula by the year 2008, according to a survey implemented by the Dubai office of TRI Hospitality Consulting.
The AGCC markets expected to make the largest gains are Qatar, with a projected 145 per cent increase in room supply, and Kuwait, with an anticipated 75 per cent increase in room supply, according to Khaleej Times, which cited the report on Tuesday.
The quick expansion of the tourism and real estate markets in the AGCC in recent years has been fuelled by an ever-growing number of ambitious mixed-use development projects that incorporate significant hotel components.
