The Dubai Department of Civil Aviation welcomed this week the Royal Nepal Airlines flight RA 229 from Kathmandu to the Emirate. Royal Nepal Airlines earlier operated six weekly flights through Dubai on to European destinations. It ceased operations from September 2, 2001, due to management policy. It is now resuming flights to Dubai with three flights a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
In the year 2001, 13.5 million passengers used the Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and this year 15 million are expected. By the year 2010, passenger throughput is predicted to reach 30 million, according to official forecasts. — (menareport.com)
