The Russian oil prospecting company, Lukoil overseas Anaran LTD, headed by Vyacheslav Kosmynin, opened a representative office in Tehran, Iran News reported Saturday.
The main task of the office, staffed mostly by Iranians, is to oversee implementation of the Anaran onshore project in western Iran,the report indicated.
It said the project is being implemented jointly by Norway's Norsk Hydro (75 percent) and Lukoil overseas (25 percent). The contract covering the entry of Lukoil overseas into the project was signed on February 14, 2003 and entered legal force on September 26 of the same year after approval by the National Iranian Oil Company, according to the Iranian newspaper.
The fixed work program covers drilling of five exploration wells which is projected to last until October, 2005. (menareport.com)
