Jinny Software, a subsidiary of Acotel Group SpA, has signed a messaging contract with Sabafon, Yemen’s GSM operator. The deal will see Jinny providing its short message service (SMS) center solution, with additional sub-systems, allowing Sabafon to offer several new services in the country.

These include SMS content services, bulk SMS, vehicle tracking and welcome roamer SMS. The system is capable of handling the next generation of messaging services, including SMS, EMS (Enhanced Message Service) and MMS (Multimedia Message Service), and can operate on both GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) networks.

The Jinny solution will also give Sabafon an opportunity to explore and implement new SMS based revenue streams. "Sabafon is the market leader in Yemen, as we have been first to market with several new services. We are proud to provide additional world-class value-added services to the people of Yemen, while also positioning Sabafon as a Bulk SMS Hub for the Middle East & Gulf region".

Jinny Software is part of the Acotel Group. Jinny provides network infrastructure products to GSM operators, including next-generation MMS. Acotel Group SpA is a European Wireless Application Service Provider (WASP) and provides personalized, wireless value-added services to more than three million active, paying subscribers worldwide.

Sabafon is the GSM Network Operator in the Yemen Republic, with a license to operate a GSM-900 Network. Their GSM footprint covers all of the major cities and highways in Yemen. — (menareport.com)
