The Saudi Al-Othaim Trading Group, based in Riyadh, is planning to build 30 new trade centers throughout the kingdom. The group's new strategy includes expanding the existing local branches and penetrating into new trade activities.
The group’s chairman of the board, Abdullah Salih Al-Othaim, told to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat daily that a new trade center would be opened in the Rabwa suburb of Riyadh next month and another center is expected to open in the Iskan suburb of Barida next June. The total investment in these two projects is estimated at 150 million Syrian riyals.
In December, the Al-Othaim Trading Group announced that it had increased its investments in Riyadh by opening a central chain of bakeries over a 1,000 square meter area in the Al-Shefa suburb of Riyadh. This bakery project, worth three million Saudi riyals, will supply bread products to the existing 20 branches of the Al-Othaim chain stores in different neighborhoods of Riyadh.
The Chairman estimated the group's total sales last year at more than SR 740 million ($197.3 million). — (Albawaba-MEBG)
