For the first time in the Arab world, insurance certificates covering high-risk ailments will be made available in Saudi Arabia, reports the Al-Hayat daily. The Saudi World Care Insurance Company has recently offered the certificates to citizens in an unprecedented move that would insure buyers health coverage for a number of potentially fatal high-risk diseases.
Many insurance companies prefer not to offer such services because of the potential loss involved for the insurer. The new certificates will cost between $208 to $3,000 per annum, and will cover up to $1 million in treatment costs. –(MENA Report)
