In a recently published report, Saudi Arabia was listed as one of the world’s top three oil producers for the first quarter of the current year, according to IRNA. During this period, the kingdom produced 7,985,000 barrels per day (bpd), while Russia produced 6,700,000 and the United States produced 6,020,000. Trailing close behind were Iran, Norway and China.

The report, prepared by the Italian Oil Union regarding official world oil production figures, estimated the average daily production of crude oil during the aforementioned period at 75,615,000 barrels worldwide. This figure reflects a 2.7 growth compared to last year.

Of this amount, 30.82 million barrels are supplied by OPEC member states, reflecting a 5.3 percent growth compared to last year. Non-OPEC countries, on the other hand, produced 44,790,000 bpd during this period, accounting for a one percent growth relative to last year’s figure. –(Mena Report)
