Saudi Aramco has made two new oil and gas discoveries. The company's new Abqaiq-480 gas well, in recent tests, flowed 40 million cubic feet per day of non-associated gas from two Khuff reservoirs at depths up to more than 4,877 meters, stated a press release.

A third promising Khuff reservoir indicated presence of gas, which will be tested later. Abqaiq-480 is located 43 kilometers north of Abqaiq and 32 kilometers west of the company's Dhahran headquarters in the Eastern Province in the northern dome of the Abqaiq field.

The other discovery, the Ghazal-15 well, began flowing crude oil on June 23 over Unayzah-B Reservoir at 4,233 meters. The well also extended the gas reserve in the Unayzah-A Reservoir. The well is located in the Central Province, 150 kilometers southeast of Riyadh and 90 kilometers west of the Haradh area of the giant Ghawar Field. Ghazal-15 is located in the Ghazal area of the Mazalij Field complex. — (menareport.com)
