Saudi beverage producer Aujan has reported that its exports to the US and UK markets increased by 32 and 46 percent respectively in 2003 compared to last year's figures.

Based in the Eastern Province, Aujan exports over 10 million liters of juice to over 30 countries on a yearly basis, with 15 percent of the total volume sold in US and UK markets, according to a company news release.

The success in expanding Aujan's export market has been accelerated by recent developments and operational enhancements throughout the company. Earlier this year, Aujan was converted from a limited-liability company to a joint-stock company – a move designed to increase organizational and management efficiency. Additionally, the company saw the completion of a $30 million upgrade in its production and packaging facilities.

Founded in 1905, Aujan produces beverage brands such as Vimto, Barbican, and Canada Dry. The company has also launched several brands of its own, including Rani fruit drink and the children's drink Hani. Aujan is also the sole distributor of Cadbury's chocolate and Wrigley's chewing gum to the Kingdom.

In addition to US and UK markets, Aujan currently exports to South Africa, Mauritania, Sudan, Egypt, Pakistan, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, India, the Maldives and Canada. — (menareport.com)
