A 200-page, English-language reference book about Saudi Arabia for foreign investors has been published by the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reports Gulf News, reflected the kingdom’s new-found eagerness to open section of its economy to the outside world.
The book comprises two parts. The first details the development of the Saudi economy from 1930 to 2000 and the current investment opportunities in industry, metals, oil, gas and services. The second section outlines Saudi Arabia’s business relations with 25 selected countries.
According to Faris Al Harbi, editor-in-chief and media and publications director-general of EPCC, the new book has assumed topical significance in view of Saudi Arabia's current drive to promote foreign investment through fresh initiatives in parallel with a liberalization of existing laws.
The primary purpose of the book, says its author, is to provide a comprehensive database the Saudi business community and business interests abroad, to identify new business opportunities in the country. – (Albawaba-MEBG)
