A Saudi solidarity committee announced a grant of $2.44 million to Palestinian residents of the West Bank and Gaza Strip on Sunday, April 1, raising its backing over the past six months to a total of $41 million.
The official news agency SPA said the latest aid went directly to 892 Palestinians who had lost their homes or farms at the hands of the Israeli army during clashes since the end of September.
Interior Minister Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz, whose government granted $30 million in emergency aid to the Palestinian Authority in November, heads the committee formed to support the Palestinian uprising against Israeli rule. — (AFP, Riyadh)
