The Saudi American Bank (SAMBA) recently reported that it had begun providing a new service enabling Saudi residents to pay their electric bills by phones. Residents of the western, central and eastern regions of the Kingdom will also be able to pay their telephone bills through the SAMBA Phone Service and ATM system, according to Al-Hayat daily.

SAMBA has been in operation since 1980, when it took over the existing branches of Citibank in Riyadh and Jeddah. In July 1999, SAMBA merged with United Saudi Bank by an exchange of shares, to form one on the largest Banks in the Middle East. — (MENA Report)
