The Saudi Planning Ministry has revealed that the kingdom’s volume of exports had grown by 31 percent between 1998 and 1999. According to a report by Xinhua News Agency, this figure reached SR190.08 ($50.69 billion) in 1999.
The largest volume to be exported that year was obviously crude oil, with Saudi Arabia exporting SR138.34 billion worth ($36.89 billion) in 1999. That same year, the kingdom exported petrochemicals worth SR9.19 billion ($2.45 billion) and SR3.53 billion ($940 million) worth of plastics. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
