The Saudi Association for Agricultural Sciences and the Faculty of Agriculture at the King Saoud University in Riyadh will organize a forum under the title “Prolonged Agricultural Development” from February 5-7, reported Al-Hayat . The forum will focus on the agricultural development process in the Kingdom, the obstacles facing the process and potential solutions. Several Saudi agricultural specialists and academics will participate in the meeting to discuss prolonged agricultural development in Saudi Arabia through efficient deployment of available resources.
Economists estimate that agricultural investments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia amount to 106 billion Saudi Riyals ($28.26 billion). The local agricultural sector contributes to 10.3 percent of the non-GDP and 8.7 percent of the total GDP.
