Al-Zahed Tractor company and the Haji Hussein Alireza Limited company, representing the Volvo and Mazda car companies respectively, have both faced recent demands coming from the Saudi ministry of commerce. According to Al-Hayat daily, the ministry has requested that these companies present clarifications regarding recent rumors spreading through local Saudi markets.
According to these rumors, Volvo had allegedly withdrawn 16,000 of its “S-80” vehicles from the market due to technical difficulties, while Mazda is believed to have withdrawn 352 of its cars, due to similar reasons. Apparently, the specific Volvo model has problems in the steering system , while the Mazda automobile is said to have troubles with its breaking gear. –(Albawaba-MEBG)
