The Saudi Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Abdullah Bin Muamar recently signed an 11.928 million Saudi riyal ($3.18 million) contract with the Said Mahfuz Al-Ghamdy Contracting firm, according to Al-Jazirah newspaper.
Under the agreement, the Al-Ghamdy firm will transport drinking water to remote villages located in the mountain areas of Al-Jizan, through the use of water-tank vehicles. The deal was signed as part of the government’s plan to ensure supply of potable water throughout the kingdom.
Another agreement was signed in the beginning of September for the transport of water from the Wadi Arada to Al-Baha province, for the total amount of SR 214.9 million. — (Mena Report)
