Saudi Arabia's agriculture ministry announced Tuesday, April 3, that 3,800 cases of foot-and-mouth disease had been detected in 67 sites.

"Sixty-seven sites of the foot-and-mouth pandemic had been detected Tuesday in the regions of Riyadh, Medina, Mecca and in the western provinces", the ministry said in a statement quoted by the official SPA agency.

The statement reports 3,818 animals infected by the contagious disease, including 326 already slaughtered. — (AFP, Riyadh)
