Second oil find on Libya's Block NC 186

TotalFina Elf and its partners Repsol, OMV and Saga reported a second oil discovery on Block NC 186 onshore Libya. The block covers a 4,300-square kilometer area in the Murzuk Basin, approximately 496 miles south of Tripoli.

The B-1 discovery well indicated a significant oil column in the upper Ordovician sandstone of the Mamouniyat formation.

Production tests showed a daily flow rate of 1,300 b/d of oil on a 16/64-inch choke and an electrical pump. B-1 is located about 18.6 miles east of the block's A-1 discovery and 24.8 miles from the El Sharara field production facilities in Block NC 115.

Commissioned in December 1996, these facilities have sufficient capacity to process and export additional oil production.
