Digital television provider Showtime has launched Home Cinema Text, an SMS text service that enables subscribers to order their personal selection of pay-per-view movies via mobile telephone short message service (SMS).
The service is the first application of SMS text technology in the pay-television industry. To use the service, subscribers register their mobile telephone number with Showtime. The television network then links the mobile number to the individual subscriber’s Showtime smart card number, giving the subscriber the freedom to order Home Cinema movies and events by SMS text. — (menareport.com)
