Egypt’s Sinai Cement plans to ship white cement from the Al-Arish Port. The firm forecasts that exports will reach 150,000 tons by the end of 2003, reported ICR.
Sinai Cement currently has an annual production capacity of 410,000 tons of white cement. According to company Chairman Hassan Rateb, the firm has already finalized export contracts for 40,000 tons of cement.
Sinai Cement is located in the northern part of the Sinai Peninsula, some 60 kilometers south of Al-Arish city. The company began operations in early 2001 and has a production capacity of 1.4 million tons of cement per year. The main dry-process plant equipment was supplied by FL Smidth. — (menareport.com)
