Express courier company, SNAS/DHL accounts for 50 percent of the air express industry in Saudi Arabia. A steady annual growth rate was recorded for both domestic and international traffic in a recent market share study conducted by SNAS/DHL.
The shipping of documents continues to be the main business-line of the courier companies in the Kingdom representing between 70-80 percent of the total number of shipments while the rest makes up packages.
While most of the dispatches are sent within the Kingdom itself and accounting for nearly 37 percent of all the express shipments sent, important international destinations for the air express industry include Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
In the domestic air express category to the Kingdom’s cities and towns, SNAS/DHL makes up more than 50 percent of the total industry. The company is also very strong in the outbound courier market to the GCC, Europe, and US where the SNAS/DHL commands nearly half of the market. As for the Asia Pacific destination, SNAS/DHL commands nearly 60 percent of all the shipments sent to that region.
