ALBAWABA – Sony's PlayStation, the home video game console developed and marketed by Sony Computer Entertainment, experienced a 24-hour global outage of its network. The network was fully restored after 24 hours.

PlayStation Network, the digital media entertainment service provided by Sony Interactive Entertainment, experienced a full 24-hour global outage. Sony, the Japanese multinational company, has now restored the network.

Users of Sony’s PS4 and PS5 were unable to access or play Fortnite and Call of Duty, two of the most popular and widely played online games.

“Network services have fully recovered from an operational issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank the community for their patience. All PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive an additional 5 days of service,” the company posted on X.

It is worth noting that the issue began on Friday. Users were unable to access account management, gaming, video services, the PlayStation Store, or Direct services.

According to Sony Interactive Entertainment, Sony's PlayStation Network is accessed by approximately 116 million monthly users.

Due to the technical issue experienced over the past 24 hours, users were granted an additional 5 days of free service.
