Spain’s Gas Natural Group has signed a contract for the purchase of 40 billion cubic meters of natural gas from the Qatar Liquefied Gas Company (Qatargas) over the next 20 years.
According to the agreement, Gas Natural will receive two billion cubic centimeters of gas annually from Qatargas as of January 2005.
Qatargas was established in 1984 to own and operate an onshore Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant, utilizing gas from Qatar’s North Field. The plant currently has a capacity of about eight million tons of LNG per annum from three production trains. — (menareport.com)
