Bab Al-Umra, the specialized unit for Electronic Umra Services of Al-Alamiah for Internet and Communication, recently participated in the Travel and Tourism Exhibition in Syria, in response to substantial interest exhibited by some travel agencies for Umra packages, from Syria, Lebanon and Jordan, stated a press release.

Bab Al-Umra organized and held a series of information briefing sessions for its Saudi Umra companies as well as its agents in other countries. The session included a speech given by General Manager of Bab Al Umra, Tarek Hifni, which incorporated a detailed description of the mechanics and techniques of this electronic venture, for the external agent. He further explained the procedures of entering the data needed for the issue of Umra visas, a method that notably decreases the paperwork and effort involved.

Hifni launched the new version of the Bab Al-Umra program that will enable the external agent to enter and process the data of all the Umra applicants, without connecting his PC on the Internet until the data is sent to the program operator in Saudi Arabia. The upgraded version will also provide more advantages to the external agent, including more flexibility and simplicity of usage, in addition to lower Internet communications charges. In addition to that, the program provides a storage and archiving system of all communications between the agent and Bab Al Umra.

As part of its comprehensive worldwide initiative, Bab Al Umra toured other international destinations in the Far East including Indonesia and Malaysia. The Company organized a series of meetings bringing Saudi program operators and travel and tourism agencies together. Bab Al Umra then moved to Dubai to participate in the Arabian Travel Market.
