A recently published study titled “Promotion and Marketing of Insurance Services in the Arab World” warned of increasing control of the local insurance sector by foreign firms, reported Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
Official sources show that of the 367 currently operating insurance companies in the Arab world, 75 are foreign. In the UAE, for instance, a total of 168 insurance companies are operating in the local market—43 of which are foreign companies. —(MENA Report)
