According to preliminary figures published in the Egyptian Monthly Economic Bulletin, the receipts derived from the Suez Canal during the month of February 2001 totaled $146.6 million.
This constitutes a revenue shrink, compared with the $161.6 million received in the previous month.
Throughout February 2001, the total tonnage of passing vessels stood at 35.8. The overall number of vessels passing through the canal during that month totaled 1,108, of these 208 were oil tankers and 890 general cargo vessels. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
