Suzuki sales in the UAE recorded their highest growth of 40% in 2004 over last year. The sales results were announced by Suzuki’s sole UAE distributor Al Rostamani Trading Co. who was awarded the dealership only a couple of years ago.
“We are on a high note and our sales are very encouraging. The UAE consumers have begun accepting the SUZUKI brand as a premium Japanese make which offers the same quality and reliability as any other Japanese automobile. We are embarking on serious efforts to enhance the after sales support infrastructure to increase consumer confidence and we are confident that the outlook for Suzuki in the UAE is very positive”, said Mr. Marwan Al Rostamani, GM of ARTC.
The star performer from the Suzuki line-up has been the popular SUV Suzuki Grand Vitara which grew by a staggering 75% over 2003. “ The Grand Vitara remains our most popular vehicle. It enjoys legendary status and was one of the first small SUV produced ever. The Grand Vitara’s availability in a variety of engine types and also as a 3 door and a 5 door 4x4 offers the best choices to the consumer, plus the vehicles are priced exceptionally well”, added Mr. Marwan Al Rostamani. With the consumer preference shifting towards affordable and compact 4x4, the Suzuki range of small and medium sized SUVs appears to be well placed to capture a piece of the market share. Plus the back up of an established name like Al Rostamani adds to the credibility of quality service support. Suzuki now offers a total of 6 models covering passenger cars called Ignis & Liana, SUVs like Jimny, Grand Vitara and XL-7 and a commercial vehicle in the shape of a compact van called Carry.
Suzuki is currently running a unique DSF promotion where the customer decides his own discounts based on the time he can hold his breath. The promotion has already become popular due to its innovativeness and unique discount concept.
