Symantec, the world leader in Internet security, Sunday announced the appointment of Information Management Technologies (IMT) as its first Managed Security Services partner (MSS) in Saudi Arabia.

IMT are a subsidiary of Al Suwaidi Holding company and one of Saudi Arabia’s leading end to end IT Solutions Providers, based in Al Khobar. A provider of managed business and technology infrastructure solutions, it has fully satisfied Symantec’s rigorous criteria necessary for the qualification as a Managed Security Services partner.

Symantec and IMT are providing high level managed security services available in Middle East, that are fully capable of detecting, analysing, and responding to the mass of security data a network produces – all in real-time, providing better protection than ever.

The combination of Symantec’s leadership in Internet security solutions and services together with the experience of IMT in the kingdom and in specific vertical markets represents an ideal solution for companies that are becoming increasingly demanding in terms of security.

In terms of the partnership, IMT will provide complete management of client environments, including the provision of risk profiling, vulnerability assessment, BS 7799 auditing and consulting, security roadmap design and implementation, Security Device Management and anti-virus updating, together with support and high level consulting onsite.

“More and more organizations are realizing the value of information and are taking protective measures by using Managed Security Services in conjunction with Secure Operations Centre backing”. In addition to these changes Vernon Fryer Divisional Head of Information Security and Risk Management at IMT said, “we believe that organizations have identified the threat of doing things on their own. Our infrastructure and expertise make us best qualified for providing a complete managed security service to our clients with the backing of Symantec’s extensive monitoring facilities”.

“In the past a company would be on its own in the event of an attack; managed security gives organisations access to the knowledge of security experts in order to protect their networked assets and infrastructure,” said Kevin Isaac, Regional Director Symantec Middle East and Africa. “Corporate firewalls, intrusion detections systems, and other security devices generate an immense volume of data that is virtually impossible to interpret without consuming significant in-house IT staff resources”.
