ALBAWABA - The Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources in Syria announced a new list of fuel and gas prices to prevent any violations or manipulation of prices.

New fuel and gas prices in Syria

The new administration in Syria released updated fuel and gas prices. The Syrian Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources announced the new rates as follows: gasoline will be sold at $1.16 per liter, diesel at $1 per liter, and domestic gas cylinders at $12.28 each.

It is worth noting that Syria imports most of its crude oil. Before the revolution, the country produced high amounts, but this figure dropped by about 96% afterward.

Fuel Storage

According to previous data, the Baniyas refinery on the east coast, with a production capacity of 126,000 barrels per day, received about 3 million barrels in total last year, including 100,000 barrels per day from Iran.

Additionally, the Homs refinery can produce about 120,000 barrels per day and refines around 15,000 barrels per day. The two refineries can cover about 70% of the country's diesel needs and about 90% of the country's gasoline needs.

After the fall of the Assad regime, fuel prices varied across different stations, causing problems for citizens. The new administration has now set the prices, and gasoline is consistently available at all gas stations in Syria.
