Director General of the Dubai Ports Authority (DPA) Jamal Majid BinThaniah recently received a Syrian delegation from Lattakia Port.The delegation included Assistant Director General of Lattakia Port, Sulaiman Baloosh accompanied by several Syrian businessmen and officials from the port.
Thaniah briefed the delegation on the facilities and services offered by the DPA regarding the quality of finishing transactions and the new technologies implemented in handling containers.
Thereafter, the delegation was conducted on a tour of the Jebel Ali Port. Thaniah briefed the delegates on the electronic gate service, which is offered by the DPA in the field of achieving the ships transactions and goods quickly and in an efficient way.
In 2002 DPA handled 4.2 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) achieving a growth of 20 percent compared with 2001, which registered 3.5 million TEU's. — (menareport.com)
