Tabreed, the National Central Cooling Co. (PJSC), has signed five new contracts with the UAE Armed Forces. The deal which is worth around Dh600 million makes the UAE Armed Forces Tabreed’s largest customer.

The projects which are currently under construction comprise five additional stations that will serve a number of Military camps and other Armed forces facilities.

Commenting on the announcement, Mohamed Saif Al Mazrouei, Chairman, Tabreed, said, “The UAE Armed Forces are sincerely committed to supporting energy conservation and environmentally friendly systems and methods. Our expanding portfolio of projects stands testimony to this. It is a matter of great pride for Tabreed to be awarded these prestigious projects, and to be associated with the UAE Armed Forces in converting their vision of an energy efficient country into reality.”

“Tabreed’s district cooling systems ensure not only an increased efficiency in cooling but also a reduction in the power generated in the grid,” he added.

“The concept behind Tabreed, offering hassle-free, environmentally friendly, maintenance-free and energy saving cooling is very popular around the world, and has been implemented successfully in the UAE for the last five years. With more than 130,000 refrigerating tonnes currently under contract for a range of military, commercial and residential properties, the market is proving highly receptive to Tabreed’s offering,” continued Mr. Al Mazrouei.

District cooling is widely used throughout the UAE and around the world, piping chilled water from a centralised plant to a range of residential, commercial and government buildings. (menareport.com)
