Egyptian Minister of Education Hussein Baha Al-Din stated that several Technology education projects are to be launched in 22 Egyptian cities. According to Cairo’s Al-Ahram daily, Al-Din noted that 700 factories throughout the country are committed to participating in these projects.
The minister emphasized the importance of both technical and theoretical education for the advance of the Egyptian community. In addition, the Egyptian government has also made plans to establish three new colleges for the teaching of technology-related subjects and various computer courses.
Such moves to promote Egyptian technical education are in accordance with President Hosni Mubarak’s recent call for the modernization of Egypt’s education system overall. — (MENA Report)
