Press Release:
Al-Rostamani Information Services (ARIS), the information technology value-added solution provider in the UAE, announced today the launch of the highly acclaimed software management institute, TechnoCampus, in Dubai. The announcement comes as a response to the initiative of the UAE to become the IT hub in the Middle East.
Research shows that there is an increasing demand in the business market for IT professionals with managerial focus. The globally recognized brand in software education, TechnoCampus, is being brought to the UAE by ARIS in association with Globsyn Technologies, a leading Indian information technology training and education company.
“Bringing TechnoCampus to Dubai shows the level of our commitment to building the skills capital that the UAE needs to compete in the world's information technology industry," said Hassan Al-Rostamani, general manager of the Al-Rostamani Group. ”There is a strong demand for unique IT training programs in the UAE today; we need to move beyond the current IT industry-led certification courses and add vocational depth to it.”
TechnoCampus programs are designed to deliver a vocationally oriented educational experience for students in order to prepare them for the real world of work.
ARIS conducted extensive market research to establish the skills needs for businesses in the UAE. The study shows that there is an increasing and pressing need for information technology professionals that are equipped with managerial skills and capable of driving business strategies for their organizations.
83 percent of fresh graduates in the UAE indicate in the research that they feel an urgency to have computer-based skills in their portfolio. More revealing is that of the computer professionals interviewed, 77 percent indicate that they want management-oriented training to complement their IT education to advance in their careers.
“It is clear that business skills must be complemented by technology skills, and visa versa. TechnoCampus will provide the business community in the UAE with a new generation of technology professionals that can help organizations take a leadership position in the Internet, software and applications areas,” said Hassan Al-Rostamani.
TechnoCampus delivers its software management courses through the application of the successfully implemented “finishing school” concept pioneered by TechnoCampus in India.
Applicants to TechnoCampus undergo aptitude tests that measure the depth and breadth of their information technology knowledge and skills. TechnoCampus consultants then use the test results, along with the applicant’s current and future career plans, to design a training track that assists applicants in meeting their objectives.
“Training programs offered by TechnoCampus fall into ready-made modules designed by Globysyn Technologies and recognized internationally by their added value to information technology professionals and students,” said Bibhas Basumatary from Globysyn.
The YSM (Young Software Manager) programs trains high-aptitude graduates on unique techno-management concept, a mix covering the best of technologies with focus on software projects management.
TechnoCampus conducts also the TWSP (Total Web Software Developer), which takes in graduates with no previous exposure to software and trains them to develop expertise in specific skills, web technology and e-commerce to become professionals for client/ server platform.
ASMP (Advanced Software Management Programs) caters to the specific needs of corporate and working professionals for continuing education with a series of short duration programs focused on current technology such as Linux, E-Com, Java, SQL Server, Oracle 8i and others.
Corporate and individuals with training needs that do not fall within these modules are offered customized courses designed especially by TechnoCampus’ highly experienced trainers. All modules and courses combine software education with real-life project and strategic management skills.
“As part of our curriculum, students are expected to handle case studies, present seminars and work on live projects,” said Ghada Sami, senior student advisor. “This unique techno-managerial education goes beyond mere certification. Students of TechnoCampus can make an immediate and practical contribution to technology companies in the UAE."
Students at TechnoCampus have access to an up-to-date IT and management-focused library, and have free access to the Internet to assist them in conducting their researches.
