Syria has recently taken initial steps to set up a technology park, somewhere in the center of the country, most likely in Aleppo, reported Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper.

The proposed project, which is to be constructed in cooperation with Chinese, Malaysian and Russian companies, is estimated to cost up to one billion dollars.

The Syrian Ministries of Planning and Higher Education are currently assessing the feasibility studies of such a venture. Initially, $100 million will be invested in building the park, bringing the total investment gradually to one billion dollars. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
