On Sunday, December 24, the CASE continued slipping on thin trading. The telecom sector was hammered with Mobinil (EMOB.CA) losing more than 3 percent and Orascom Telecom (ORTE.CA) trading limit down almost all during most of the session to shed 4.78 percent to LE51.43. The cement sector was mixed with Sinai Cement (SCEM.CA) falling 1.95 percent to LE14.07, Suez Cement (SUCE.CA) inching up 0.5 percent, and Helwan Cement (HELW. CA) retreating 3.88 percent to LE33.97 on profit taking.
The Food sector was the only gainer with Chipsy (CFIN.CA) leading the rally with 4.95 percent, leaving more than 250,000 shares unfulfilled and Eastern Tobacco (EAST.CA) adding on 3.39 percent to close at LE65.04.
Overall, the PAMI closed down 1.66 percent at 7,657.1, while the PIPO closed down 0.01 percent at 1702.3.
