ALBAWABA - In a bid to boost its daily active user count, Threads, the platform introduced by Meta to rival X (formerly known as Twitter), is diligently working on introducing fresh features. The latest development reveals that the platform is currently in the testing phase for its "Trend Topic" feature.
This novel feature promises to empower users to stay updated with the hottest topics trending on the platform. While the exact release date remains shrouded in mystery, it's a confirmed fact that the Threads team is actively fine-tuning the Trend Topic feature.
Threads Takes on X (Twitter) as a Challenger
With Elon Musk's endeavors to bolster Twitter Premium subscriptions prompting the search for alternative platforms, Mark Zuckerberg, under the Meta umbrella, rolled out Threads to cater to this demand.
A Dip in Daily Engagement
Threads achieved a remarkable milestone by swiftly amassing 100 million users since its launch on July 5th. However, the subsequent period saw a dip in user engagement. Nevertheless, the Threads team remains dedicated to enhancing the app, offering an array of new features including support for chronological feeds, the introduction of a web application, simplified profile switching, a convenient way to view liked posts, and most critically, robust search functionality.
Usage of Threads' Android application plummeted from 49.2 million in its inaugural month to 10.3 million a month later. Yet, the platform is determined to make a triumphant return, continually rolling out new features and improvements to win back its user base.
