Figures released by the Lebanese ministry of tourism show that the number of tourists that visited Lebanon during the first 10 months of the year 2000 totaled 646,481, constituting an increase of 9.2 percent from the same period last year. The number of tourists visiting in October rose 9.8 percent to 49,783 from October 1999.
The distribution of tourists by origin indicate that Arab countries came in first place with 41 percent of aggregate visitors, followed by Europe (31 percent), the Americas (12 percent), Asia (10 percent), Oceania (4 percent), and Africa (2 percent). — (Lebanon Invest)
